My Services

Thank you for your interest in Dana Treat. Want a little help with the weekly meals? Need great food for a party you are planning? Or, do you want to learn more about cooking great vegetarian food? I can help.

Weekly Cooking

I currently prepare dinners for clients on Tuesday and Thursdays. I cook in my own kitchen, place the food in reusable containers, and deliver the food to their homes. With each meal, I include a handwritten note with the night’s menu and any last minute preparation instructions. The prep time at home is very minimal – something like just reheating and tossing a salad. Occasionally, something will need to be baked in the oven. I pick up my containers the next time I deliver. Although none of my clients is vegetarian, they are all happy to eat that way a few times a week.

Each meal includes at least three components (main/side/salad or 2 salads/soup, etc.) and a “treat” once a week. I would say my food tends to be quite healthy but I do make things like macaroni and cheese on occasion. Mostly, I use whole grains, a little cheese here and there, and a lot of fresh produce. Because they are so fresh, most meals should be eaten that day or the next.

I pull inspiration from the seasons, the nearly 100 cookbooks I own, and the 4 food magazines I receive. The menus I put together are well-balanced and varied – I rarely repeat a recipe. If you would like to see a list of menus starting from the beginning of 2009, please click here.

Update as of 4-09: Due to the current economic climate, I am currently cooking for two families on Tuesdays only.  If you are a potential client interested in two days a week, I can pick Thursdays back up.

As far as cost, I charge a set price per entree, side, and dessert, plus a separate charge for groceries. Contact me at danatreat [at] gmail [dot] com for more information.

Catering

I am available to cater something as small as a sit-down dinner party for 6 or to make a spread for a crowd. Past clients have ordered some kind of meat from elsewhere and I have made everything else – appetizers, side dishes, salads, and desserts. Cooking Classes

If you have a group of friends who wants a fun and educational night out, why not take a cooking class? My kitchen can comfortably accommodate 8-10 people and I can tailor the lesson to what you want to learn. The evening begins with a glass of wine and some nibbles followed by an hour or so of instruction. Then, we all sit down to eat the fruits of our labor and you go home with a recipe packet and some new ideas. We can come up with theme that best suits your group’s needs. Some ideas would be Weeknight Cooking, Healthy Meals, International Flavors, or whatever you want to learn! I can also teach basic baking classes.
