I used to make challah with my grandma when I was growing up and I believe you can tell a good one just by looking at it and its crumb. Your looks outstanding.

I’ve only made challah one time and it was good but not great- so I’d love to try this recipe! I know exactly what you mean about the dough keeping you company. I am home alone (without a car, eek!) all day with my babies and it is nice to have something anchor the day like having to punch down some dough! Sounds odd, but it is so true!

My hand is WAY up. My mom used to make bread while we were at school…the smell was wonderful. I might have to bite the bullet and try to make this so that my kids can experience the warm smell of fresh baked bread…maybe.

Yes, I am raising my hand here! For me it’s not the yeast, it’s the whole kneading and rolling thing that seems like a chore. But if you say it’s easy… Plus yours look amazingly delicious!

Gorgeous, gorgeous challah. My challah, and I only make it once or twice a year, always looks really bulbous, asymmetrical, and deformed. In fact, I’m pretty sure my challah is jealous of your challah.

Until last weekend, plain old white bread was the only bread I have ever made and even then I didn’t make it very often. I made potato rosemary bread on Saturday and it turned out wonderful. So now the bug has bitten me and I want to make more! I will be giving this a try.
